Blue Ridge Ruck Club started out as Loudoun County Ruckers (LoCo Ruckers) in 2018 by USCG/Navy Veteran Matt Greiner and current club leader Greg Williams. Our first forray into organizing events was volunteer work for local parks assisting with the reconstruction of local hiking trail bridges. Since then we’ve expanded into all sorts of rucking events including fun social events, serious training, road trips to regional events, more volunteer/charitable work, camping, and attendance of endurance events -especially GORUCK.

We have several annual social events. Such as our annual Kilt Ruck, always the weekend after St Patrick’s Day in March. This often combines a small fitness challenge in the morning with a bar crawl in the afternoon, all while wearing kilts and celebrating Celtic Culture. We also have been traveling to Salem, MA for Halloween events every October for 3 years running. This fun trip involves camping during the height of the New England autumn and attending Halloween themed GORUCK events in the number one Halloween destination in America.

We usually have at least 3 events a month, including both weekday and weekends. For weekday events we understand if attendance is difficult, local traffic is what it is. We strive to be highly innovative and fresh with new ideas both fun and challenging.

Being in the DC region it’s very important to emphasize we are neither protesters nor politically affiliated. We support some causes such as Supporting Veterans and Cancer Research. But we otherwise are apolitical, as a group.

While we love to see people as often as possible, we do not require regular attendance. We ask you be able to as least walk a few miles as a minimum of fitness. We will work with from there, or warn you when an event we’re planning may be too challenging. On the other hand we have head some absolute elite athletes among our events, and always enjoy this wisdom and representing as a part of our team.
